Our children are a precious gift, and we love finding meaningful ways to weave them into the life of the Church. They're just as much a part of the Body of Christ as our adults!
To this end, we include children in various aspects of parish life through activities like reading programs and (age-appropriate) ministerial opportunities. Examples include: serving in the altar, helping with zapifka, singing in the choir, participating in Holy Saturday Old Testament readings, serving as assistant greeters, and bell ringing.
We also offer a number of ministries tailored for children, including:
Church School: We provide a comprehensive pre-K through high school Church School program every Sunday after Divine Liturgy. The program is currently divided into three groups: pre-K to 1st grade, 2nd to 5th grade, and middle school/high school. If you wish to enroll your child, please contact our Church School Coordinator (see our Contacts page) or directly fill out the form here.
Nativity play: Our children perform a Nativity play annually to remind us of the great mystery of Christ's incarnation and birth and provides a collaborative experience for the children.
SONshine kids summer day camp: St. Christina's hosts a week-long summer day camp as part of the SONshine kids pan-Orthodox ministry. This camp offers children an opportunity to learn about Christ and His Church in an engaging environment.
Our family-oriented events like game, pizza, and s'more nights, are also a hit!
